Manufactured fire logs are a clean burning alternative to wood. They are made by combining wax with wood sawdust and other biomass materials.

- Fire logs produce about 80% less fine particle emissions than an equivalent duration wood file. *
- Fire logs are designed to burn much more efficiently than a wood fire, producing more engery per pound than wood. A three hour firelog fire (one
5-6lb firelog) is equivalent to burning about 25 lbs of seasoned firewood.
- Most fire logs are designed to be burned only in open-hearth fireplaces, but some can be used in woodstoves and outdoors – just check the label first.
